Welcome To Tara Winthrop Clinic
Our mission is to provide an atmosphere of warmth, respect, dignity and independence, where each resident is valued and encouraged as individuals, to make their own personal choices with regard to their social, cultural, spiritual and emotional needs.
The Clinic provides nursing care for medium, high and maximum dependency residents, and it is divided into five separate units. Erris and Shennick Units are devoted primarily to mobile individuals with various forms of dementia. Columba Unit is for very high dependency elderly residents and adjacent Iona Unit is primarily palliative care. We also have a 32 bed high dependency unit for residents under age 65 suffering neuro-degenerative and other chronic conditions. The Clinic has been in operation since February, 2001. In August 2005, facilities were expanded with the addition of 79 more beds, a physiotherapy department and hydrotherapy pool.
